The young members of Brothers of Italy, the militants of National Youth, are praised as "the best youth" by all the party members, starting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni: they are the future of the party and the leadership of tomorrow. Backstair, the investigative unit of Fanpage.it, infiltrated the youth movement of Italy’s leading party with an undercover journalist. Despite the group’s attempts to present a moderate standing, the video investigation "The Meloni Youth" reveals chants of fascism, fear of the press, glorification of neo fascist terrorism, and nostalgia for times when political opponents could be assaulted.

Leading the youth group in which Fanpage.it journalist infiltrated are two of the most promising politician of the future right, Andrea Piepoli, already in the movement’s executive committee and in line to succeed the president Fabio Roscani, BoI MP, and Flaminia Pace, the head of a new branch, publicly praised by Arianna Meloni, the Prime Minister’s sister and head of the party’s political secretariat. The investigation by Fanpage.it shows MPs Marco Perissa and Paolo Trancassini clasping each other’s arms with the gladiatorial salute inside the party branch, and MEP Nicola Procaccini doing the same with his supporters. The leaders of the circle, Pace and Piepoli, are the one who fuel the spirit of camaraderie among the youth, legitimizing references to the Fascist period and allowing Roman salutes and far-right concerts even within the branch.
